ABBYY Vantage for M-Files
For almost 170 years, our customer has sourced agricultural products globally and transported and transformed them for consumers around the world. Founded in 1851 in Europe and expanding to a truly global operation, the customer is one of the companies that dominate world agricultural commodity trading. The company makes up about 10% of the world's agricultural product trade flows, and is the world's largest cotton and rice trader. It is also regarded by many as the second-largest player in the world's sugar market. The company has a presence in more than 100 countries and aggregate average annual gross sales in recent years have exceeded US$120 billion. The company employs more than 22,000 people globally at peak season.
The customer reached out to TEAM IM after viewing the ABBYY Vantage connector for M-Files on the ABBYY Vantage skills marketplace.
A large existing M-Files user, the customer was looking for the ability to capture invoice data off of scanned images that could then be integrated with M-Files to create a full-text, searchable object. Additionally, the data elements captured in the invoice needed to be mapped to M-Files based on each unique configuration, the solution had to support invoices in varying formats and had to be able to split and separately capture data from multiple invoices in a single file.
The goal for this implementation solution was to create a tool that could automate capturing invoice data, regardless of the format of the original document and then add those invoice objects to a well-made M-Files facilitated workflow, which eventually resulted in the processing of the Invoice in the ERP system.
TEAM IM implemented the ABBYY Vantage integration into the M-Files cloud vault. We then worked with the customer to make changes to the integration in order to optimize it for specific project needs. In collaboration with the customer, TEAM IM supported all testing of the integration solution and remediated any issues that arose.
The customer was very positive about the ABBYY Vantage integration. It met their short-term goals, as well as preserving data in raw format for future data applications that will help them achieve long-term goals.
